Ranting (this is harsh and may offend many)...

Today's kids have it easy, I must say. When I was growing up we were taught the value of a dollar, had to earn our allowances and do the standard chores that made us into the decent human beings that parents can be proud of. When I see the elementary schools having to ban the use of cell phones in classes and every kid in town with an IPod attached to their heads, I have to wonder. What? you ask, I wonder how they would have done if they had to live their day-to-day lives like we did. Could they do it? I'm not so sure they'd be able to without having to run to Starbucks for a half-caf, half-decaf, non-fat latte.

Now.. I don't mean to sound nasty or anything, but I am slightly disgusted. To think that if they all just did even half of what we had to do, they would be such little snots. In actuality, I can't even blame the kids, it's the parents who need to just shake their heads. How can you honestly raise a kid to have so little regard for those around them? Yeah, I know, you're all busy, working sixty hours a week, both parents, just to support the house with six + thousand square feet, the rolls, the jag, and the kids beemer. You want them to have everything that you didn't growing up right? Well, that's great, but if they don't earn it they don't have any respect for their own property let alone someone else's. The kids with the parents who just shrug their shoulders and pay for the kids mistakes are the ones who need to understand that they're only making it worse.

Alright, I've said my piece and I must apologize to all I may have offended during the writing of this. It is strictly my opinion and reflects upon no one person or persons.
