Happy Halloween...

My favorite holiday of the year! What other day can you dress up as a goblin, a ghoul or the opposite sex and get away with it with very little commenting?? In fact, you'll more than likely receive compliments for you ingenuity and attention to detail. A man in drag doesn't raise any eyebrows, a woman in a dominatrix outfit gets rave reviews and all the little kids in their vampire, cowboy, ballerina and such get oohed and awed over. Plus, the ever present bonus of getting loads of candy, who can resist.

As a child it was a pact between my sister and I to hit the whole neighbourhood. We'd start out seperately at opposite ends, since it was still daylight out, and then meet up once it started getting dark. Then we'd finish up the centre area before heading home to check out the loot.

The parents would always get stuck with the stuff that we didn't like and if they were lucky we'd even let choose something out of our 'good stuff' stash, we were very generous.

Now that we're older, it's the joy of seeing the younger crowd out patrolling the neighbourhood in search of the ultimate in chocolate and hard candy. There's always that one house who has the best stuff every year, they're the ones who buy the big chocolate bars or the more expensive items, sometimes they have the one thing that is truly unique.

So as the little ones head out on All Hallows Eve - be safe, be careful and, as alway, have fun. Trick or Treat y'all!
