NaNo Update
Well, I am on FIRE! hehe... I did another 4,100 words in three hours tonight, not a bad haul at all and am sitting at a very respectable 32,000+. Just another 17,000+ to do and voila! Finis! hehe.... yeah.... But, the highlight of it all is, it's all coming smoothly and relatively easily unless I zone out while in mid thought. That has caused me to have to erase whatever letter I was holding for however many spaces while I was off in Never, Never Land. But, now it's onto other things for the time being, I need to give the fingers a chance to relax before I continued to torture them through the night. Cheers ;)

Random Update
Well, my fingers are numb but I managed another 3,522 words since 7:00 this evening... basically I just did tomorrow's quota - woot! hehe... But now that I can't work my pinky on my right hand it's time to stop for the night - have a good one everybody else who might be writing this evening - Cheers! ;)
8 days to closing
Well, I finally hit the half-way mark, 'bout damn time too. And yes, there is some grumbling after that sentence, I just haven't had the time or been completely unable to make the time to write this damn novel. WTF?! I have all the time in the world in October, but as soon as a deadline looms in the horizon - poof! All the free time is gone like the wind. Oh well, good new is that the groove is on and I do have 8 days and change to make the cut. In the last 3 days alone I've written over 3,000 words, so I can get this thing done realistically speaking.
3,000 and change a day is all that's needed to get to my goal. Not that hard really, I usually do about 2,000 on the bus ride to work and back again, so all I have to do in the evenings is the change of the numbers. And I'll have this weekend to write, all weekend. I'll just put my nose to the grind stone and actually do it. The coffee will be continuous, the snacks will be numerous and I will write until I can't move my fingers anymore. Then I'll rest and start all over again. It is possible! hehe - well, got more to write - I'm outta here.....

Early hours...
Well, I've finally managed to break 20,000... if only by a small margin. Writing for about 5 hours straight I managed to do just under 7,000 words, not too bad really considering I paused for dinner, a short visit from a friend and just general running about for snacks and refills of beverages. But now, my poor brain is fried and my fingers ache - lol! This was the first chance I've had in nearly a week to do any writing at all, so I needed to put in a good showing. Especially considering that as of the 15th I should have been at the half-way mark, and still haven't gotten there yet. But, on the upside, I know am back on track and know where I'm headed with the story again... Had a brief moment when I somehow strayed from my original idea and had to back track to do a little creative editing and additions to get me where I needed to be. But, I'm there now and we're rolling... if only the fingers would stop cramping up - lol!

Snippet - 1st Edition
Okay... just because I had a good day of writing I'm posting on here twice tonight and putting up a wee chunk of something I wrote while listening to this woman on the bus complaining about her husbands choice in underwear...
"I know your name, I know you like the dark, thick local ale's, but chilled and not warm as is typical of the locals and that you like your burgers well done," he pointed to her plate. "So you see Randi Chalmers, we're fast on our way to becoming the best of friends." With a sly look he leaned in and grinned, "Now if you'd like to tell me your bra size, favorite color and whether or not you're a fan of thongs..." he trailed off the question and waited.
Randi stared at him and seeing the mischievous glint in his eye she burst out laughing, throwing her head back.
Chase closed his eyes for a moment as the rich sound wrapped around him and danced down the nerve ending in his body. Everything in him tightened and came to attention at the sound.
"You are incorrigible," she accused him softly with a chuckle and watched him blink in innocence before that little-boy grin of delight spread over his face revealing a hint of a dimple in his left cheek. "Too large for my liking which makes buying shirts a royal bitch, forest green and yes," she nodded with a small pause, "when I can be bothered to wear underwear I do indeed wear a thong."
Chase's smile got bigger as his groin tightened, she was getting him back he knew for his less than appropriate behavior and he was truly delighted. Blowing out an exaggerated breath he took a drink and shook his head, "And she says I'm incorrigible," he shot her another grin.
Randi just smirked at him, "Alright, come on," she said and then at his confused look told him, "turnabouts fair," and lifted an expectant brow.
"Well," he said slowly, "since the reduction surgery I haven't needed a bra, blue and I personally have never worn a thong." He chuckled as she rolled her eyes, "Takes a stronger man than me to wear something that little."
"Alright," Randi said still laughing softly at his sense of humor, "Boxers or briefs then?" she asked with a curious look.
Leaning right in he told her softly, "Neither," and then watched the dawning comprehension as she nodded and swallowed hard.

My muse...
Okay... seriously, who out there would honestly ever consider that Public Transit would be a kick in the ass for a muse? Well, apparently, it's my muse's ass kicker because that is practically the only time I get any writing done for NaNo. Yes, you translated that babble correctly, I am only writing for my NaNo novel while riding on the Calgary Public Transit.
Today's trip to and from work for a combined total of 40 minutes racked up 1,468 words. That is not half bad in my book *grins* or for my book.

Day Eight
Well... okay, it's the eighth day of the month, but technically it's actually only day four of writing for me. What am I talking about? NaNo of course :) Yup, I've gotten in four days of writing and am at 9,003 words as of 8:45 local time. That's pretty much all I gotta say in this post except that my job is seriously putting a cramp into my writing time. Yet another 10 hour day at the hell known as my job. But, I wrote 900 words on the bus ride home tonight, talk about being on a roll - lol! Oh, and in case you're wondering, it's a twenty (thats 2-0) minute ride. Cheers!

In the dead of night....
So, no one but me is awake at my house, thus it is very quiet. I've been sitting here, once again, making notes. My pile has been steadily growing and is now threatening to topple over. Oh, for those not working on the same wave length as me, I'm talking about the NaNoWriMo novel that I will be doing come November and the (at last count) 153 pieces of paper with scribbles on them that I have in a box. My project for today... later today that is, after I've slept and the brain is no longer so much mush, to organize and type them all up. This will be during laundry and chatting and other housework that I don't actually feel like doing. But, the organizing needs to be done so that I'm ready... that and I can't actually remember what all's in the darn box.
So, Saturday project, get organized and get everything down onto 1 (or 2... maybe 5) pieces of "paper" - ie: into a word document in really tiny type :) Mainly because I know the next week at work will be hectic and then the following week we have the month end smack dab in the middle. So, I kinda need to be pre-organized because I won't actually get to any real writing until at least that Saturday. But, if the buzz in my head is anything to go by, I may end up with a major finger cramp by the time I get enough down that the brain stops working again. Course... it could just be a buzz from all the caffeinated beverages I had earlier today to wake me up... lol!
Well, yeah... this has been another mindless and pointless rambling post by me. Thank you for reading it and not passing out on your keyboards - Good night from Calgary, AB. ;)

For those that are wondering...
Yes, I have succumbed to the Sirens call of the all powerful and mighty NaNoWriMo... I signed myself up and, if you're all really, really good, I'll even tell you who I signed up as. Don't bother looking for me as I am - I'm totally incognito folks...
Yup - and, the really sad thing, I have the whole novel figured out in my head already with about an eight inch pile of notes and scrap pieces of paper with little phrases, thoughts, things I need to add it. So, if all goes according to the Wendy plan - I should have it half done in the first week, procrastinate for the next two and go into the mad dash/final crunch for the last week. Yup... insanity I tell ya :)

Lost my marbles...

Well, I hate to say it, but I think the title of this post is true (everyone who knows me - hush!) I came home, looked in my email in-boxes, all of them, and went - bleh! Who cares? Well, obviously not me. I answer a few that need answering and then just sit there staring at the rest and shrug. So, instead, I go watch a few YouTube blurbs and putter around, tidying up my desktop and rearranging some of my permanent files and what not when WHAM! it hits me. And, for clarification, right between the eye balls :)
I had me an idea. For what you ask, well, I've been puttering with the idea of doing the NaNoWriMo in November and sort of hemmin' and hawwin' over it. But, I now had an idea. So, lickety split (gads I'm using crap the rents say!) I pulled up a new word doc and started to get down what was in my head. After reading through it about 2 hours later and, slightly rearranging the wild jumble into something that didn't look like it just came out of the local looney bin, I realized I had my concept. Well ain't that all just hunky-dory?! *shudders*
So, I've got my idea, I've got it all laid out in how it should go, I've got everyone (character wise) decided right down to their descriptions. WTF!!?? It's still freakin' September and I've already got it all figured out? May the Gods have mercy on me for this one... I have no idea if it will all still be viable by November, it better be after those 2 hours but... well... we'll just have to see. So yeah, from looney-ville Alberta - Ciao!

Yup, still kickin'...
It's been awhile, I know... so much to do, unfortunately. Have to say, I haven't been this hectic at work in a long time, takes a bit to find that groove again. But, as with anything, it'll get there eventually, just wish it didn't all have to hit like a lightening strike. Fast and painful - lol!So yeah, works been insane and home life has been a royal pain in the you-know-what. Been helping I think pretty much every friend I have in town move from one end to the other over the last two weeks. Now, if they'd actually coordinated this better, we could have picked up at one place, dropped it off, moved over about eight blocks and picked up a load to take back in the general direction of the first place. But no... they both have to move, on different days and then, I'm such a sucker, I get sucked in on a third, fourth and fifth move. *rolls eyes* Where is the justice in this?!
Other than that, writing has been slow, not much going on really, been puttering away still on my script, it's not done yet, but will be soon enough. I'm having fun with it still and that's what really matters most. Thinking about the next writing contest that comes around in November NaNoWriMo. It's big, huge and most of my pals have been writing in it for years. I've been considering it, writing a novel is easier than a script after all, not so much of the having to have it all placed just so and sectioned and proportioned and... well, etc, etc, etc.
But that's still two months down the road, but I've got an idea circling the drain (so to speak) that might just work. Now to see if I have any idea if I can take it through to fruition I suppose. I don't know, as I said, still lots of time to putter with the idea and see if it might lead someplace interesting.
Well, until later folks, dinners at the door and I'm starving - Ciao!

Oh where, oh where has the summer gone?

Okay, this is a totally valid question. Where has our summer gone? We had it and then it went poof! July was the hottest summer month we'd had in many years, and now... August sucks. It feels like I'm living in freakin' Vancouver. Rain, rain and yes, more rain. I like rain when it's warm out and it's a nice break to the heat. But damn! This stuff is cold and nasty, the wind is bone chilling and it's just plain ugly out there. I live in the freakin' prairies, we shouldn't be having this freaky assed weather.
*sighs* But, since there's not really any one to lodge a complaint with, I suppose I must continue to suffer along.
Let's see what else has been happening... Oh yeah, boss is gone on holidays, this I've mentioned before - jerk. And, of course because he's gone, we've gotten increasingly busy at work. Yup, that time of year again where the work load triples overnight. Well, it happened, my desk looked like a paper bomb had gone off when I left on Friday, yup, "left" and that was after cleaning it up for Monday morning. I have so many unanswered emails in my work in-box it's not even funny, just all the crap that a) I didn't get to and b) didn't feel like doing because I already was running around at full steam.
The most joyous of all the news *claps* is that it only gets busier from here! Woo-hoo. NOT! omg! I so can not wait for all the holidays to be completed and the office to be back to full staffing again. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to actually get fully caught up on things.
As to writing, well, I just haven't had time to be working on my script, I know, bad me. But hey, unlike some people I know and won't mention names, I didn't set a deadline to have it completed. See Ry, I didn't once bring your name up in that sentence.
Well, that's it for today, I have some cleaning to do, a little rpg action to complete and then I'm going to collapse and watch the finale of The Kill Point. Ciao!

We interrupt your regularily scheduled program...
Yeah, I know, I was just here, but hey, I've been off puttering about. Actually, I've been writing on my script again and actually got another good chunk added to it. It's been slow since the panic of the Frenzy ended, just a few words a day kind of drizzle, but today - wow! Inspiration hit or something, but I got another wad added to it.
We now return you to what ever it was you were doing before being distracted by this post...
