Day 5

Well, it is pleasantly mild today, thankfully. The house is super cool, the outside temp was loverly and I was able to bbq today without fear of dying from heat exhaustion. Course, last nights entertainment included watching our neighbor across the way bbq during the rain/hail storm... hehe! Out with his umbrella, trying not to drown his steaks and keep from getting soaked in the onslaught. Yup, the sister and I stood in our big picture window and watched, sipping our slurpees and occasionally waving at him.

Yeah, we're serious shit disturbers. But hey, not much else to do, TV is all re-runs, the rain hit before we could get to the video store and our room mate refused to go cause he'd get wet. And, at the time, the computer was acting buggy with the storm so we were just leaving it be. At least we weren't offering advice, like we'd normally do, but we don't know him well enough yet. But when we do... lol! watch out neighborhood! Alright, gotta go, belly's a growling and I'm thirsty... Cheers!

So I was bored...

Anybody that knows me, knows that when I get bored I tend to redecorate... so to speak :) If you've been here before you may have realized that yes, for the third time this month, I've 'redecorated' my blog site. It was just to... blah?! for me at this time. I'm feeling very dark and mysterious, thus the rather dramatic change to the appearance. To those just comin' round for the first time, no I'm not normally this dark and scary... well, not all of the time, but hey a girls got the right to change.

Besides, I've been writing various pieces and I've started to look at them as I write them and have made a decision. It's time for a little something different. I've done the thrown Joe Blow off the cliff (hey Rylie *waves*) I've had people shot at, I've done the emergency C-section (Jeannie my girl *grins*) and I've basically thrown one major catastrophy out after another non-stop. So, there I was cursing clients, not to their faces mind you, but sitting there cursing them none the less and came to a conclusion. I'm tired of the happy-happy, and need to do something that will creep people right out of their skivies, more than my 'evil stalker dude' (long story unless you read him) that is. I'm planning more long-term, more subtle, more sneak it in and see how many are paying attention and then WHAM! right to the middle of the forehead. Yeah, so, yeah. Well, that's the plan anyway and I don't know when, I don't know who (character) is going to get the honors and I'm not sure in what form, but I plan to shake things up just a little and see where the feathers fly.

That's it for this random piece of nothingness, until next time we hope you'll remember, don't piss into the wind - Cheers!

Skidding through

Hello all! *waves* Just wanted to pop on and let you know where I'm at right now. I have been busily working on my script for the last couple hours, mainly because I've been bad and not writing all week. *grins* I've been otherwise preoccupied of course and the words just weren't coming. But, that's behind me now, they are flowing strong and sure and I am puttering along at a pleasant clip. The count at 4:10 pm local time is 12,750 words. Yay me! Yup, doing great, should get a lot more done today actually. I have plenty of time today as it is raining off and on outside so I can't get out and do anything today. Tomorrow is a different story of course, tomorrow I have plans and come hell or high water (both completely possible in Calgary) I don't intend to skip out on them.

I just wanted to touch base and let you know that I'm still alive and writing strong. I'll be back on later I'm sure to let you know the new count, but for now, cheerio peoples, I've got danger to write and a confession to put down on paper... what it leads to, well... I'm not actually sure. ;)

Troublemaker

You know, I really can't help myself, I am a born troublemaker. I love to provoke, antagonize and prod people. Why? you might ask, and well you should. I love to watch people hang themselves or fumble wildly or just make fools of themselves over and over again. I don't do it on purpose of course, it actually starts out pretty innocent, but somewhere along the way, I just start maneuvering the conversation into new directions. Mostly just to see what the other person/people say in response. And no one is safe from my wicked ways, friends, co-workers, acquaintances or just random strangers. Yup, that's right, even perfect strangers off the street are not safe from me. *grins evilly* But, now I must go and see who else I can prod with my evilness and get themselves all tied in knots... muah! muah!

Making headway

So, I am kickin' ass and taking names if anyone wants a whoopin' *grins*. Kidding. Actually I've been writing since I got home, more or less. In the, roughly, hour and twenty minutes, I've plugged in another 1,935 words for my script. Which now brings the grand total to.... drum roll please! 7,445 as of 6:40pm local time. Not too bad and, I'm sure, I'll squeeze out a few more tonight if I can. Not sure if I want to right now, I'm at a happy place for a stop, so I may just go off and putter at something else.

Nothing super exciting happened today, just the normal randomness that is my life. Dealt with the whiny, the snivelly and the (so they claim) downtrodden and weary *wipes tear*. In other words - clients. Known in my industry as the "I-wanna's". I-wanna have it now, I-wanna have it sooner, I-wanna have it yesterday... okay, if someone ever, EVER, invents the time machine, I am so coming for you! This is your only warning... so be warned *gives evil eye*.

Other than that it's been a pretty typical day, except we got the news that all the new equipment is coming in on the 22nd of June. I can see you all going, 'yeah... so what?'. I shall translate, this means that all chaos and havoc will ensue upon this day. The shop shuts down for the day, everything gets rearranged and then put back into it's brand new spots. Sounds easy right? Then you come and move the 5,000 tonne machine all by your little lonesome. I so dare you! No, no takers... hm, shame. Oh well, I am off to make some one's life miserable and... I shall do this with great pride in my work - until later PEACE!

Time's running down

Hmm, so time is running out for a stroke of brilliance to appear in my life, a bolt of lightning to jolt something free, anything. Although... maybe inspiration may hit yet. I have come to a point where I've decided not to worry about it, why worry right? If it comes it comes... so, that's the plan. If an idea comes, I'll do something with it, if not... oh well... 'Kay, gotta bolt, somebodies phoning now - Cheers!

I survived!

Greetings peoples!! I have survived the famed and much glorified May long weekend! Hold your applause please... Nothing uber-exciting but! I did find a wonderful little website that has all this nifty little recipes on it that when you have time on your hands, like I did during the downpours of rain on the weekend, you can use to whip up something delectable. Well, after a few hours of puttering around I found another little site, that I hope I remembered to bookmark *crosses fingers* because, hot damn! it had these wonderful "beverage" recipes.

Yes, that's right folks, we stayed warm and toasty on Monday, while many were working, poor slobs, experimenting with our beverages of choice. This is something you can do if you happen to have a bunch of half-empty bottles kickin' around from various other parties of things you normally would not drink no matter how much money was offered. But, funny enough, some of these depraved beverages actually work in certain drinks to create something that you enjoy. Who knew?! Okay, I did, but that's just because I've come across some things over the years that I know I hate straight up, but with the right proportions and the right kicker, well... not bad, not bad at all folks.

Anyway, I am rambling while my belly is a rumbling, so I had better go feed it. Adios for now mi amigos!

Keepin' Rylie happy

It was mentioned not so long ago that I need to write here more often, so here I am... writing... yup, uh-huh *nods lots* Soooo exciting - wooooo! *grins* alrighty then.

Just kiddin' Rylie! But seriously folks, not much new has come about. Works been insane, especially this last week, as we have out Victoria Day this Monday which equates to LONG WEEKEND!! Whoo-hoo!! Yeah baby! Steaks on the grill, long-neck in hand and in so many layers to stay warm that you can't move. Thus, the traditional May long-weekend, ya never know what you're going to get.

So, let's see, what else is new... oh yeah, the Script Frenzy thing. Been puttering around and jotting down ideas left right and centre. Haven't quite figured out what genre it will be yet, but definitely feeling slightly more confident about what I'm going to eventually put to paper. Don't ask me for a title, can't pick a title until I know where and when my script is set, beyond what I've sorta gotten figured out.

Well, that's it for now, I shall be back at some point either over the weekend or at the beginning of the new week to let y'all know if I've frozen to death out in my backyard... well, actually, if I'm frozen I won't be able to tell you so... if you do see me again - I SURVIVED!! Ciao folks - have a good one :)

Hello to everyone

Hi everybody! I know, I know it's been a while... okay, a REALLY long while since I last posted, but I've been busy. We ended up making a killing at work in January, super busy with a huge project that had all of us working double time around here. Then, just to really rub it in, one of our salesmen went down to Mexico for a week of sun and fun. We were not pleased when he came back all tanned and happy, talking of sunny days on the beach, beautiful weather and drinks with little umbrellas.
We suitably cursed his name during his week away, mainly because we got even busier and ended up putting in even longer hours in the office. Then of course there's the new site that is doing super great, hey y'all - love everyone of you!! Everyone's getting into the alien groove of things, having fun on a world not of our own and running around kickin' butt. Got to say, I love every single one of them and really appreciate the fact that they are writing on there, it's great to have some justification for all the headaches me and Jeannie had leading up to posting it.
Well, I think that's it for today, especially since my ride is heading out the door without me. So I shall bid y'all a good night and I promise, girl scouts honor, that I will try and write a little more often. Cheers!

Slacker!!

Yes, I am a slacker it is true, just trying to do too much this week and haven't had a chance to get on here. But I figured I'd stop on by and say 'Hi!' to y'all and just do my thing.
Busy, busy, getting new people on the rpg site I set up with a pal o' mine. I'll say hi to all of them too and say that I'm ever so pleased to have them join the family. It's great to see the interest starting to peak with our little project.
The weeks been super busy at work, except today, which I've taken as a relaxing day at work. Chit-chatting with my work buds, playing games, IM'ing with friends and not much else. It's a great day to be just pissing about after the week I've had. Monday and Tuesday was just brutal! We had problems on top of problems and then we had a big boo-boo on Wednesday that put a severe crimp in the days original plans. Yesterday was okay I suppose, a little hectic but, overall, not too bad. Today's been very calm and not to rushed, a nice change to say the least.
Well, I think that's it for now, I'll see if I can get some new and exciting news for next week. So I shall say au revoir and I'll check y'all next week - Cheers.

Sorry y'all...

Hey everybody! Happy Friday, it's the weekend.. it's the weekend.. Yes, I'm a little excited. Just wanted to say that I know I've not been posting as often as I should be, but sh*t happens. I've had 'issues' to deal with on a few things, plus there's work and the real world. Y'all know how it is.
Plus! I've been working on the poem below, it took me a bit to get it going the way I wanted. It was not the most cooperative piece I've ever worked on, just didn't want to flow the way I wanted it too. I had the concept in my head and started writing it down. Ended up with only about 8 lines, that I had to move around and toy with before the other.. several dozen would come out. And viola! you have an interesting piece - I hope. *shrugs* As an artist one is never quite sure of ones reception by the public. Okay, 'nough of that.
So, not much up for the weekend, just a bit of puttering around the house. The usual stuff, laundry, tidying up, do some dishes and maybe get some computer time to do a few posts. Other than that I think I'll sit down and watch a couple of movies I've yet to view out of my roomies collection, eat some popcorn and generally just vegetate. So 'til next time - Ciao!

Technology bites!!

Alright, I know, I know.. 'it makes our lives easier'. All I have to say is BS! It is supposed to make our lives easier, but does it really? Not mine, if anything it makes it more complicated. If it's not crashing, it's burping and kicking me off of systems, or it's just being a royal pain in the derriere. Now, if someone actually came up with a computer that could do it all and not cause major headaches 24-7, that's the one for me.
Why the tirade you ask... What a can of worms that one is. I can't access my email off a certain site, who shall remain nameless for the fact that they're royally pissin' me off and I'd probably get sued for slander. But those out there who know me, you know who you are, know of what I speak. It's been an on-going problem... six days now, with intermittant problems beforehand. Now it's just one giant keg of agony and anger toward 'technology'. It never works when you want it to and when it does work you don't require it to. Go figure right!? Freakin' Murphy's Laws of computers are kicking in big time around me.
But, I've done the prescribed sending in of the diagnostics, detailed the problems to the keepers of the site and now await their pearls of wisdom. Personally, I think it all happened because of their latest and greatest upgrade that the computer of which my anger is directed at, went and downloaded for whatever inane reason without my permission. That's another topic that sets me off, the bloody thing is set to ASK me before actually downloading, but every now and again it does something by itself, usually to my detrement. I hate technology, and the real kicker is, if they'd thought all this through ahead of time and learned from errors of the past, I'd probably wouldn't be having half the problems I do right now.
Oh well, whatcha gonna do right? I think the little devil dude has the right idea though... *evil grin*

It's ONLY Wednesday??!!

Been a busy day, so much to get done work wise before the holidays. It seems that everyone has JUST read our notice of closure over the holidays. I mean, really, we sent the notes out over two weeks ago and their just cluing in now! Yeesh!!
Between orders up the whazoo, I've been writing a bit, gotten 9 pages into my part three finally. This part was a little bit harder then the rest, I've had a lot of starts and stops. Course, part of that might have been because of the bloody amount of work piling up on my desk. I just had to take a moment and vent, so don't mind me, it just drives me batty that people are really this idiotic.
Then, to top the day off, I find out a friend of mine is having a brutal week. She ends up having to get a new tire for her car, go to court, scrimp until payday and take a load of crap from her co-workers. Unfortunately she lives quite a ways away so I can't give her a hug like she truly needs. It's frustrating, I'm the type of person who needs to be there for her friends and can't stand standing idly by. Well, all I can do is talk to her and hopefully get her through this rough spot without her blowing a gasket. I think that's it for now, I need to go make sure she's okay, so - Peace out peoples!

Time's running out...

So, obviously I survived the company Christmas party on Friday night. For the record, it was a blast!! There was great food, lots of booze and the boss was paying for it all on his platinum card. What more could one ask for *grins*?
But, on a completely different note, I've figured out that Christmas needs to be moved about three weeks after the fact, just for me. You think I'm kidding? I'm not. I can't get a bloody thing done, I've still got massive amounts of shopping to do and I'm working OT every night so I'm here before the malls open until they pretty much close. It's highly frustrating, especially since there's only twelve and a half shopping days left!! That doesn't even include the fact that I actually have to cut two days off that total for going up to my folks and the fact that my mother puts us to work for the whole time we're there, not giving us any time to do any shopping.
But.. it's okay, I'll figure it out, in the meantime I'm yanking my hair out and cursing our clients soundly. Trust me, a sailor ain't got nothing on me.

Doomed at the start...

Alright... I've started story 2, and right now my poor hero's are in trouble, right where I want them. They're poised to be tossed to a rocky demise, but hopefully they'll pull a miraculous escape out of their hats. Haven't figured out how yet, but by the time I get back around to saving them maybe I'll have a better idea. Be horrible if they did end up getting dumped off the edge, very sad and highly painful.
Oh well, on to other things... It's another beautiful day here in Calgary, a little nippy but not too bad. The sun's playing peek-a-boo but is supposed to be out in the open this afternoon. My boss, the original iceman, takes this as a sign to crank up the bloody AC. Have I mentioned, he's not the brightest lightbulb in the box? Well, he's not, he's a couple fries short of a Happy Meal and drives us all batty. Plus, we have to wear our outdoor clothing indoors, not fun at all.
So, it's official, the bossman has decided that we are taking 10 days for the Christmas holiday. It'll be great, I'll be able to actually enjoy this years holidays a little more then normal. Usually it's so rushed and packed full of visits that you don't get a lot of down time to just relax, before you're right back at work and slaving away again. Not that I actually slave, we have a pretty relaxed work environment, we work hard and play hard, and just have fun the whole way through. Well, I think that's it for today - Cheers!

Another Tuesday...

Well, it's Tuesday and not much is happening, just puttering around at work. Been contemplating starting a new story, my other one has fizzled for the moment. It's just kind of died on me, the SL has.. well, stopped for now. I've had thoughts on a story, just not the one I actually am working on, so I figure, why not?! Start the new one and see if maybe getting it out of my brain will get the other back into gear again.
It's a very different kind of story, which may be half the problem with the block of the first one. Two different stories going around my brain at the same time, I think they're interfering with one another. Getting story 2 down on paper might help kick start story 1 again, who knows. That's the running theory right now anyway, we'll see if it will actually work or not.
Let's see... other then working on a few SL for the rpg's I'm part of there's not much else happening right now. Weather's great, the suns shining, the snow's melting and the temperatures just over the zero mark, what more can you ask for right? Well, that's it for now, let you know if I get my story groove back or not - Cheers!

Slacking off..

Okay, I admit it, I'm a slacker... I haven't put anything on here for a couple of days, but it's been end of the month at work, so it's been a bit hectic. We had a nice big month so that makes up for a bit of it, plus I've been busy with catching up with old friends, and new ones. Been doing a bit of writing, I think I'm over my mental block for my story, it's started to flow freely once more.
The weathers been good, thankfully, we're getting out of the deep freeze, finally. Yippee! We're being told we'll warm up a bit more for the weekend and see some sunshine, what's that?? It's been so long since we've seen it we're all confused by the concept. But hopefully it's a good thing.
Not much planned for the weekend, just a few household chores and tidying up. Some relaxing with my story and maybe watch a couple of movies that my roomie rented and the one he bought, if he'll let it out of his clutches. So particular he is, but I'll just sneak it out when he's at work *evil laugh* that'll show him. Well, I think that's it for now, ya'll have a good weekend and see you on the flip side - Cheers!

Kudo's are due...

She's gone and done it folks.. that's right, she's completed the 50,000 words needed for NaNoWriMo! Rylie's completed the requirement, and still going strong. She's decided to continue on, since she's not reached the end of her story yet, and give us all a big wind up.
Just wanted to send out a 'Good for you girl', and let her know that I'm behind her all the way. I've read some of what she's got and it's good. No, not a strong enough word, it's mind-blowingly exceptional! So here's to you - you're my hero!!

Shameless plugging...

Greetings one and all, I must shamelessly plug a friends blog site because, well... it rocks. She is an amazing young lady, who is attempting something of amazing proportions, she's writing a story for NaNoWriMo (otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month). She needs to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of November. She's been doing amazingly well so far and I just wanted to show my support for her and the project on my site.

So, Rylie, here's to you love, keep going strong and know that I am cheering you on. Pom-pom's are at the ready, the cheerleader outfit is dry cleaned and I've been stretching. Just let me know when you are wanting the cheer section to step up, if nothing else, it'll be comic relief.

If anyone out there would like to check out her site, click on Rylie's name in the links section on the right or copy and paste this, http://writer-rylie.blogspot.com/, up top. She also has the link and info for getting onto the NaNoWriMo site if you'd like to check it and any of the other writer's out, go for it...

Monday morning...

Well.. it's Monday morning - hoorah! NOT! I'm downing my first cup of java and wondering where the weekend went, again. Why is it the week seems to drag, then it's the weekend and there's never enough time? Personally, I think it's a cosmic joke, why else would you work your a** off for five days, and then have two days for 'rest'? Like, really! where is the fun in that prospect. You work hard all week, on Saturday you have to do the usual weekly household duties, if you are one of us neat freaks, this takes time. Then, supposedly, Sunday is the day of rest, but it never works that way. If you have kids it's even worse if they're into any type of sports, or some such, because there's usually an enormous amount of practices. Been there, in my childhood, and now am appreciative of all my parents sacrificed to get us to and from these horrendous events.
Course, as any child, I didn't show my appreciation then. But, as an adult, I can see my parents went out of their way to provide my sister and I with something that we wanted. To this day, I will always love them for the support they showed us, that and the fact that the dance lessons did nothing for my sister. She can still trip over her own two feet, on a flat surface, with nothing within twenty feet of her and fall on her a**. Glad all those hours of ballet paid off mom, you should demand a refund.
